Summary: | This article takes inspiration from some of the passages of Pope Francis’ Evangelii gaudium in order to promote a reflection on Christianity as both a process and an event. Far from being the religion of a «Total God», whose presence floods space and time, Christianity lives by an ongoing liminal interaction between identity and project, givenness and promise. Both as an event-into-the-limit and as a limit-related event, Christianity announces God’s presence as a passage. The Christian experience is an open horizon where the shocking reality of an incarnational scandal (a God-man, «here» and «now») meets the fluid hazard of a project-inspiring journey through history and life. |
