Description
Summary:The present essay examines the Latin recension L2 of the Apocalypse of Paul, thought to be a translation from the Greek, independent from the L1 and L3 Latin versions. A new examination of the question proves that L2 is not a translation from the Greek independent from L1. The same conclusions can also be drawn for L3. Some variations of the chapters 14 and 20 of all manuscripts of L1/L2/L3 are analyzed and, for chapter 20, the sub-archetype origin of the branch of the tradition L2 is reconstructed.
