Summary: | Even though Plato recognized the importance of the female question, difference feminism accuses him of ignoring the peculiarity of women in order to assimilate them to men. A reading of the Meno, however, can demonstrate that with the myth of the immortal soul and his theory innate knowledge transcending the body, object to anamnesis, Plato points to a third way: the search starting from knowledge and historic differences, that tries to transcend them and confronts them critically. |
