The first part of the article traces the outline of this attempt, exemplifying-in particular-the phenomenological contribution to the epistemological definition of the philosophy of religion as an autonomous discipline. The second part of the article analyses some instances of its theological reception (J. Mouroux, G. Van Riet, H. Van Luijk) in order to identify the most important objections to the phenomenological method. The conclusion offers a critical evaluation of Duméry’s attempt with particular reference to the recent«theological turn» in French phenomenology. | ||
