O texto é precedido por uma introdução sobre a relação de Friedrich Schlegel com a teologia, que procura complexificar a afirmação segundo a qual sua conversão seria um abandono total das posições que sustentara antes. | ||

They point out, in an exemplary way, to the tensions raised within the horizon of his coming conversion to Catholicism, that would take place, officially, in 1808, though it was being since 1804 rehearsed, The relatively exoteric character of such fragments is, furthermore, due to the way they make an effort towards a compatibilization between the reflection on nature – emerging, for instance, from its considerations on pantheism – and a Catholic theology of affection. The text is preceded by an introduction that deals with the relation of Friedrich Schlegel to theology and complexifies the affirmation according to which his conversion would be an abandonment of his previous views. | ||
