Ademais, procura assinalar o desencontro sociocultural da experiência simbólica do protestantismo com as estruturas de sentido estabelecidas pelo desenvolvimento de matrizes culturais-religiosas durante o período colonial. Este desencontro seria responsável pelo "insucesso" da empresa missionária original e pela transformação da proposta eclesiológica dos protestantismos aqui chegados em versões outras que a originalmente intencionada. | ||
