| Résumé: | The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship of youngsters with religion and characterizing some religious groups. Participants were 2,404 young (55.1% female) enrolled in the 1st year of high school in 78 Brazilian schools. Data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using the software Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) - version 18.0. The data found in this study refer to religious plurality in this country, and we can see the growth of groups Pentecostal and without religion. Religion appears as an important component, however, the values assigned to religious knowledge differ according to gender, region of the country and among religious denominations. |
