The basis for this was the secularization of society and culture in the modern age. However the secularization theory is in itself ambiguous. The purpose of a theological ethic cannot be to formulate a catalog of Christian standards and to justify these from a theological standpoint; it should however consider the prerequisites for forming an ethical judgment (basic anthropological convictions, motivation and shaping of the personality, rationality, the boundaries of human actions). | ||
