Da una parte, descriviamo la limitata letteratura impegnata a evidenziare le implicazioni etiche dei principali risultati della teoria finanziaria classica, ottenuti ipotizzando per gli agenti economici comportamenti neutrali dal punto di vista etico. Dall’altra, forniamo un’ampia panoramica di uno degli strumenti più utilizzati della finanza etica, i fondi socialmente responsabili, delineando le tappe più importanti del loro sviluppo storico, descrivendo le principali modalità operative delle società di gestione del risparmio e fornendo i risultati dei contributi più recenti che hanno comparato in termini di perfomance tali strumenti finanziari con quelli tradizionali. This paper investigates two fields of research focused on the combination of finance and ethics. On the one hand, we describe the limited literature oriented to highlight the ethical implications of the main findings of the classical financial theory, based on the assumption of neutral (according to an ethical point of view) behaviors by economic agents. On the other hand, we provide a broad overview of one of the most used instruments of ethical finance, the socially responsible funds. We outline the most important stages of their historical development, we describe the main operating modes of asset management companies and we discuss the results of the most recent contributions that have compared the performances of socially responsible funds to those of traditional funds. | ||
