Ammonite and Aramaic Inscriptions from Tell El-Mazār in Jordan

Three inscribed pottery fragments and four ostraca were found in several seasons of excavations at Tell el-Mazār in the Jordan Valley. Although the pieces had been damaged by fire or by exposure to heat and moisture, it was possible to read significant portions of the script and to assign dates.
