Consensus and compromises, however, seem to fall apart in the face of new challenges that defy them. Israel’s "Jewish identity crisis," according to Yaacov Yadgar, "is key to understanding not only the intricacies of intra-Jewish sociopolitics, but also Israel’s positions and actions in international affairs" (p. xiv). | ||
