Felsefe ve din, ahlak konusunda insana uyması ve kaçınması gereken ahlaki değerler sunan bu iki alandır. Bu alanlar arasındaki temel fark, sunduldan ahlaki değerler bakımından değil, söz konusu değerleri elde etme yöntemlerinden kaynaklanır. Felsefi düşüncede ahiakın kaynağı akıl, sezgi, duyu, haz, korku gibi terimler iken, din ile temellendirilen ahlak teorilerinde temel hareket noktası Tann'nın varlığı ve O'nun gönderdiği mesajdır. Özellikle ilahi dinlerin merkezinde insanın ahlaki olarak eğitilmesi bulunmaktadır. Her iki alan da insanda davranış değişikliği gerçekleştirmeyi hedeflediği için değer yüklü ifadeler kullanır. Bu ifadeler önerme şeklinde sunulmaktadır. Felsefe, ahlaka ilişkin metafiziksel öneoneler koyarken din, teolojik önermelerle insanda ahlaki bilinç oluşturmaya çalışmaktadır. Bu çalışmada ahlaka ilişkin teolojik önermeler, bu önermelerin işlevi ve metafiziksel önermelerde~ farkı ele alınacaktır | ||
