They are directly linked to the cult of Jupiter-Zeus from Dolichè. Others, in the same region are testimonies of Jovian cults. All together they prove the extension of the devotion to the great god of the mountain and storm — either Hadad or Jupiter Dolichenus — in rural communities of Northern Syria during Roman times. A Latin inscription from the Euphrates bank (Khirbet Khalid) has to be connected with the cult of Jupiter Dolichenus among Roman soldiers.
