Zusammenfassung:Amidst forecasts about the future of theological education, theauthors suggest that a spiritual care revolution is taking place,one that centers chaplains as the religious leaders of the future.This introduction situates the work of chaplains in the currentmoment and urges pastoral theologians to increase their ongoinginvestments in spiritual care education that is nimble andresponsive to these changes. The authors organize insightsaround three basic questions that can serve as prompts for vitaldiscussions about how to educate chaplains more effectively tomeet current demands: What are we educating for? What are weeducating chaplains to do? Where is the need? This issue featuresthe research conducted from various collaborations aroundchaplaincy education and highlights the value of creatingfeedback loops between working chaplains, educators, andchaplaincy researchers.
