The responses to a "religious" item were correlated with the responses to 99 other variables. It was found that Eastern and Western religiosity shared about 80% of their correlates with each other, so that they were about 80% similar to each other. The shared variables included personal conformity vs. independence, value placed upon the traditional family, religious affiliation, value placed upon private property, nationalism, racialism, opposition to marijuana, and future orientation.
