While The Secret of Kells focuses on manu-script illumination, Riddle 26 describes the entire manuscript production process, from the killing and skinning of the animal to the decorating of the completed Bible. Because the materials of the Bible have already experienced violence - in a manuscript making process that alludes to the sacrificial death of Christ - the Bible is able to offer its readers reconciliation and peace, benefits described in the final part of the riddle.
