One way towards achieving this is religious education in our state schools. We will need a model of religious education quite unlike that offered in our schools at present. The model needs to be multi-faith, non-prescriptive, and informative rather than propagandist. We may draw on models in use elsewhere, but mostly we shall have to develop a new model, providing education in the pupils' own faith as well as education about other religions, and which is sensitive to the social implications of religions. | ||
