| Summary: | Recent research in organizational culture has emphasized in-depth analyses of the underlying processes of cultural “sensemaking” and, especially, of the influence of an organization's larger sociocultural environment in these processes. The present study investigates the “deep structure” of the ideologies adopted by newly-founded Roman Catholic religious communities — groups which have self-consciously attempted to revive the long-standing tradition of religious virtuosity in that church.
