The subjects were chosen to demonstrate the existing differences in educational, economic, familial, and leisure-time characteristics of contemporary rural and urban areas. The data indicate that the invasion of urban attitudes is not complete, although there are indications that these differences are less than they were a generation ago. The writer conjectures that the urban influence will advance, having many positive influences which may well outweigh the negative ones.
