It is proposed here that one logical association for ritual movement from darkness to light was the New Moon rite, known to have been prominent both in Israel and in the world of its neighbors.\n4207 Le «Jour de Yahweh», en Amos 5,18, est semble-t-il la plus ancienne mention de cette irruption de la présence divine. Si la promesse du prophète est qu’il sera un jour de ténèbres, c’est qu’il suppose par contraste que l’attente générale était celle d’un jour de lumière, une occasion positive que suggère un référent rituel.
