Résumé:This article argues that Durkheim's emphasis on civil religion, especially on an international level, and his emphasis on the importance of the public schools in the implementation of civil religion are important themes in Durkheim's work which have not been given adequate due. Some largely neglected Durkheimian sources on these themes are presented and discussed.
