Description
Summary:A scale which differentiates between preaching styles is discussed in terms of the effectiveness with which each style elicits a faith response in the preaching audience. Tests for reliability and a discussion of the construct validity support the utility and efficacy of the scale. The evidence presented suggests that style is an important functional dimension in the preaching act, but the influence of style on the listener is affected by listener attitudes toward certain issues contained in preached messages.
