These results raise questions about the adequacy of the Durkheimian and the mass-society formulations on the role of religion in the reduction of anomia and give rise to an alternative interpretation based on interaction and ritual theories. The present study supports the contention that not all aspects of religiosity are capable of alleviating anomia. | ||
