Data included self-reports by pastors and laity plus ratings of each by the other. None of the faith priorities and theological views strongly correlated with congregational growth. The few weak associations that occurred were consistent with Dean Kelley's theories that conservative theology and avoidance of social action are conducive to growth. Measures of pastor-lay differences were unimportant except for differences between laity's ratings of their pastors and their self-reports on the question of social action.
