Data analyzed for female subjects (n = 136) showed that not only were high religious subjects statistically less distressed and better adjusted psychologically than medium and low religious subjects, the results were clinically meaningful as well. Data analyzed for male subjects found no significant relationship between subjects' degree of religion and mental health/distress.
