A comparative study of these values as held by public and (Catholic) parochial school students was made, with controls placed on the effect of grade level, sex, religion, scholastic aptitude, social status, metropolitan-nonmetropolitan residence, and the integrality of the home. In general, the results showed that the parochial school students held slightly superior values of friendliness, loyalty, and responsibility while excelling to a considerable degree in moral courage. At least until the variable of religion was controlled, no significant difference was found in connection with honesty.
