Celle-ci nous renvoie à la nature de l'image, dont la genèse se trouve dans la théorie physique de la trace (vestigium). Si les signes ne peuvent être considérés comme l'origine de la connaissance, ils en sont les moyens nécessaires. Or, la réalité moyenne qu'ils recouvrent tient au fait qu'ils sont le fruit d'un ordre de signification dont l'homme est partie en cause comme interprète imaginatif. Cependant signe, image, trace ne peuvent être limités à la connaissance humaine, ils expriment plutôt la sémiose de l'ordre commun de toute la nature. Il s'agit alors de penser la réalité du signe comme partie de la cause, et de comprendre une théorie complète de la signification comme la théorie de la causalité elle-même. For Spinoza, what is a sign? What relation is there between signification and causality? One answer could be found by following the trail of a genetic definition of sign (signum), which definition brings us to the nature of image that originates in physics' theory of trace (vestigium). Signs, if they may not be taken as the origin of knowledge, are necessary means thereof. Now the mean reality that signs themselves take on comes from being the fruit of an order of signification for which man is partly accountable as the imaginative interpreter. However, sign, image and trace cannot be confined to human knowledge; rather, they express the semiosis of the common order of all Nature. The reality of sign must then be considered as part of cause, and a complete theory of signification, be understood as a theory of causality itself. | ||
