In doing so, the article develops the atheistic potential contained within the nine hypotheses of Plato’s Parmenides, and especially in the last four negative hypotheses. Thus, by moving from being to the One, from an Aristotelian metaphysics to a Platonic or Neo-Platonic Henology, the article explores atheism at new depths, where it is haunted by contemporary crises of identity. If the One is not one, what then of other beings? Plato asks. Are they not dragged into the danse macabre of a second-generation atheism? | ||
| 520 | |a RésuméCet article se propose d’explorer les possibilités de l’athéisme moderne ouvert par le cri nietzschéen : « Dieu est mort », au-delà de la critique d’une métaphysique de l’être dénoncée comme illusion d’arrière-monde. Il s’agit pour cela de mobiliser les neuf hypothèses du Parménide de Platon pour tenter d’en dégager les potentialités athées, en particulier les quatre dernières hypothèses négatives. Passant ainsi de l’être à l’Un, d’une métaphysique aristotélicienne à une hénologie platonicienne ou néoplatonicienne, on en vient à creuser l’athéisme à de nouvelles profondeurs hantées par les crises d’identité contemporaines. Si l’Un n’est pas un, qu’en est-il des autres, demande Platon ? Ne sont-ils pas entraînés dans la danse macabre d’un athéisme de deuxième génération ? | ||
