Summary: | This paper analyzes the cultural cliché of turning from human into star (catasterism), as well as the privilege of being placed next to the stars as a reward for their virtues. In order to do this, the study briefly presents the development of this topos in Classical Antiquity. Afterwards, several cases of study between the 14th to 16th centuries in Spanish art are exposed. Their purpose is to examine the continuity and readaptation of this topic in Classical tradition. |
