Zusammenfassung: | Acoording to the traditional Haggadah, the book that is read by Jews on the eve of passover, "the more one tells the story of the Exodus from Egypt, with even more detail and fervour, the greater one's merit". Perhaps a contemporary Haggadah could offer the same honour to those telling of the connection of Judiasm and mordern seculasr humanism, as story which like the Exodus from Egypt, has also been told many times - though in this case it is not clear which account of that story would bring merit upon the teller. The story of Exodus has been a source of unity but the story of modern secular humanism has, fot the past two centuries, been a source of division. |
