Arguing that scholars' resistance to engaging the intersection of religion and sexual activity except among exoticised "Others" has profound consequences for queer and transgender people after well over a century of pervasive cultural associations between their identities and sex, I urge the field to adhere more closely to the principles of lived religion approaches by taking queer and transgender people at their word when they define something—even something sexual—as religious.]
