Summary: | Elisabeth Ohlson's photographic exhibition in The Dome of Uppsala Cathedral, Ecce Homo (1998, jubilee exhibition in 2008), reflected on the life of Jesus from a homosexual perspective. This visual illumination of a suppressed world aroused the most passionate debate of Christian ethics in the last decade in Sweden. This broad debate reflected the different sources of Christian ethics concerning homosexuality, and illuminated the different moral insights represented within the Christian community. In this article, the Swedish legal, theological, ethical, and strategic perspectives on homosexuality are analysed. |
