| Résumé: | Through the factual analysis of the beginning, development, setbacks, and challenges of modern Iraqi archaeology and cultural relics protection, this paper carries out the research on different development stages under the current international and domestic political backgrounds, and analyzes the protection of Iraqi cultural heritage and the source of the predicament. There are many reasons for the tragedy of Iraqi cultural heritage, including military conflict, international economic situation, lack of state power, severe poverty, and religious conflict. |
