Far from being homogenous, this production shows a great deal of typographical and textual variance with each successive publication. Printer-booksellers actually appropriated the work and, integrating it into their editorial politics, adapted it to their own editorial context and, in turn, to their public. By analyzing the editorial discourse of Arrêts d’Amours’ first three editorial periods, this article intends to highlight, sometimes in contemporaneous periods, the tensions existing around this work and its orientation toward different reading publics, at times large and "mainstream," at others more limited and specialized. | ||
| 520 | |a Véritable succès de librairie au XVIe siècle, les Arrêts d’Amours de Martial d’Auvergne ont connu trente-et-une éditions entre 1500 et 1597. Loin d’être homogène, cette production présente de fortes variantes typographiques et textuelles au gré des mises en livre successives de l’œuvre. Les imprimeurs-libraires se sont en effet approprié cette dernière et, en l’intégrant à leur politique éditoriale, l’ont adaptée à leur contexte éditorial et, partant, à leur public. En analysant l’énonciation éditoriale des trois premiers moments éditoriaux des Arrêts d’Amours, notre article visera à constater, à des périodes parfois contemporaines, les tensions existant autour de cette œuvre et de son orientation en direction de publics différents, tantôt larges et « populaires », tantôt plus restreints et spécialistes. | ||
