Zunächst werden die Merkmale des mediterranen Wohlfahrtsstaatsregimes beschrieben, insbesondere die Staat-Kirchen-Kooperation im sozialen Bereich nach dem Subsidiaritäts-Prinzip und der Einfluss des spanischen Katholizismus, der sich produktiv auf den Wohlfahrtsstaat auswirkt. Ausgehend von der These, dass das jeweilige Wohlfahrtsstaatsregime einen nachhaltigen, strukturierenden Einfluss auf die Entwicklung und Ausformung des Dritten bzw. Nonprofit-Sektors hat, lässt sich das spanische Wohlfahrtsarrangement erklären, und es zeigt sich, wie die Krise den Sektor trifft. Gerade die sogenannten "singulären Organisationen", wie die Caritasverbände, konnten unter diesen Umständen ihre Vorrangstellung behaupten und erweitern. Schließlich werden die Implikationen und Auswirkungen der Krise aus der Sicht von 25 befragten Mitarbeitenden in sechs diözesanen Organisationen und der Zentrale in Madrid sowie ihre unterschiedlichen Hilfeverständnisse untersucht. Dabei ist zu erkennen, dass auf lokaler Ebene Prozesse stattfinden, in denen Diözesan-Caritasorganisationen mit konträren Strategien auf die an sie gerichteten Erwartungen reagieren, bei einer gleichzeitigen Betonung der katholischen Identität der Organisation. Die analysierten Strategien lassen sich als Coping-Mechanismen verstehen, die zu einer verstärkten Hybridisierung der Organisationen führen. | ||
| 520 | |a The article analyzes the development of the Spanish Caritas as a religious player with socio-political impact between 2008 and 2016 during the onset of the Great Depression and the relating adaptation of the Spanish welfare state regime. Initially, the characteristics of the Mediterranean welfare state regime are described, in particular the state-church cooperation in the social field regulated by the principle of subsidiarity and the influence of a Spanish Catholicism, which has a productive effect on the welfare state. It will be argued that the respective welfare state regime has a sustainable, structuring influence on the development and formation of the third or nonprofit sector. The Spanish welfare arrangement can be explained accordingly and it can be illustrated how the crisis affected the sector. Especially the so-called "singular organizations" like Caritas managed to assert and expand their primacy role in the field. Finally, the implications of the crisis are examined from the point of view of 25 employees from 6 Caritas organizations and the central services in Madrid as well as their divergent conceptions of support. At a local level, processes are taking place in which diocesan charitable organizations react with contradictory strategies, but with the common feature that they emphasize their catholic identity. These can be understood as a coping mechanism towards the crisis which leads to an increased hybridization of the organizations. | ||
