The starting point is a synthetic presentation of the theme of salvation in the Old Testament, including terminology, the nature of salvation, its agents and recipients. The starting point is a synthetic presentation of the subject of salvation in the Old Testament, including terminology, the nature of salvation, its perpetrator and intermediaries and recipients. A research review of these issues and analyzes related to the interpretation of the biblical record of Naaman's history shows that Judaism of the biblical time had a strong sense of salvific exclusivism, referring to JHWH, the God of Isaiah, and to the land of Israel. The historical background and conditioning of this state of affairs, confirmed in the studied text, may be the post-exilic debate on the identity of the Israelites as members of God's people and recipients of God's salvation.
