You can feel the sanctity in the gallery and the beauty in the church. All you have to do is enter the gallery or the church. Just what? Do religions reveal their meanings in the acts of their performances? Just like works of art ? Like writing an icon ? This is - the oldest position in the history of knowledge about religions. Repeatedly undertaken in its latest versions, historical hermeneutics, critical theories, in comparative religious studies, also in the sociology of religion based on the assumptions of critical realism and relationalist sociology. It is worth to ask about their detailed configurations and epistemological status. The questions are aimed at linking religion and art, religion and politics, religion and social structure, religion and any other form of collective life. Structural complications of religious connections with other forms change its social status, its significance, authority, functions. The historical variability of religion puts formal conditions in its structural contexts. Religions to a different extent formalize relations with other areas of social life, contextualize them and, in a sense, negotiate their stability and potential for change. These are the main thesis s of this article. | ||

To - zdaje się - najstarsze w historii wiedzy o religiach stanowisko. Wielokrotnie podejmowane w najnowszych jego wersjach, hermeneutyce historycznej, teoriach krytycznych, w porównawczych studiach religioznawczych, także w socjologii religii opartej o założenia realizmu krytycznego i socjologii relacjonistycznej. Warto pytać o ich szczegółowe konfiguracje i status epistemologiczny, gdy same pytania celują w powiązania religii i sztuki, religii i polityki, religii i struktury społecznej, religii i każdej innej formy życia zbiorowego, jeśli jest formą istotnie. Komplikacje strukturalne powiązań religii z innymi formami zmieniają jej status społeczny, jej znaczenie, autorytet, funkcje. Historyczna zmienność religii stawia warunki formalne swym strukturalnym kontekstom. Religie w różnym stopniu formalizują relacje z innymi dziedzinami życia społecznego, kontekstualizują je i poniekąd negocjują swą stabilność i potencjał zmiany. Z socjologii relacjonistycznej w stylu Margaret Archer i Pierpaolo Donatiego, zwanej przez nich także relacjonizmem realistycznym lub krytycznym realizmem wiadomo, że owe warunki formalizacji każdorazowo należą do relacji społecznych, to znaczy do powiązań świadomych siebie jednostek, grup, intencjonalnego, świadomego działania o zdefiniowanej podmiotowości każdego z uczestników procesów tych powiązań. Ich pojęcia także poza relacjami nic nie znaczą, jeśli mają zachować się teoretycznie. Są teoretyczne o ile znaczą relacje empiryczne. | ||
