Moreover, animportantthrustofthepaperhingesonthechallengesfacingteachereducationinNigeriawhichincludeinadequatefunding,poor societal perception of teacher education; lackofcommitmentamongteachers;problemofattritioninteaching;lackofmotivationandunethicalbehaviourofsometeachers.Basedonthesechallenges,itwastherefore,recommended,asthewayforward,thatteachingprofessionshouldbetrulyprofessionalised;publicshoulddeveloppositiveperceptionofteachers;thecurriculumofteachereducationneedstobereviewedinconformitywithglobaltrends.Itwasalsorecommendedthatthereshouldbeimprovedwelfarepackageforteachers.Thegovernment,aswellas,other stakeholders should ensure that be fittingin frastructures are put in place to enhance better teacher education programme. | ||
