Description
Summary:The Christian document of the second century known under the title the Acts of the Martyrs of Lyons and Vienne provides a number of various Greek and Jewish biblical and extra-biblical images and terminologies. The present study intends to identify these terminologies and classify them if possible into categories. Based on the insights of several previous scholars and adding my own investigations, I propose seven types of metaphors or terminologies that constitute the composite texture of the document.
