Summary: | The subject of this article are the official documents of the 10th Gniezno Convention as well as plenary speeches of selected hierarchs of the Catholic Church presented during this event. The author analyses and interprets the following documents: Program Declaration of the 10th Gniezno Convention; Vision of the 10th Gniezno Convention; plenary speech of the Primate of Poland archbishop Wojciech Polak; and plenary speech of Archbishop of Warsaw, Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz. On the basis of this research, the author provides answers to the question about the main political ideas of the 10th Gniezno Convention. By the term ‘politics’ the author means a human activity which consists in compromising of conflicting interests and coordinating interdependent behaviors (without using violence or with the use of violence). Politics takes place between social groups and inside them. It is used for shaping and protecting the social order which is advantageous from the point of view of the individuals participating in it. |
