Summary: | Religions, religious beliefs, and other religious components had and have various functions. This approach is commonly shared in the current study of religion. The point of debate lies in the status of that usufulness. However, it is worth considering an approach that interprets religious components as adaptations. In that paper I discuss religious components as cultural phenomena that can fit criteria of biological adaptation. |
