Description
Résumé:The article tackles the issue of Bosnian Islam, revealing its specificity and making reference to the ethos of southern Slavs and the legacy of former socialistic Yugoslavia, distinguishing Bosnian believers of the Allah from other members of umma. The focus of attention is therefore on the history of Islam in Bosnia, dynamics of creating foundations for their religious culture, and events constituting the dividing line for the evolution of this religious community. The empirical part concerns narratives of contemporary Bosnian Muslims in the context of their attitude towards religious radicalism exemplified by Wahhabi activists marginally, albeit currently present in the religious discourse of contemporary Bosnia. Excerpts from own research will illustrate potential of Bosnian Islam in the context of priorities of cross-cultural education.
