| 520 | |a Die Erforschung von Religion und Film stützt sich neben der Thematisierung von expliziten religiösen Motiven in Filmen und religionswissenschaftlichen Erkundungen in modernen Kulturprodukten vor allem auf die Äquivalenzsetzung von Religion und Film. Die religionstheoretischen und theologischen Folgen wurden bisher irritierenderweise unzureichend diskutiert. Dieser Beitrag plädiert für eine methodische und inhaltliche Neuausrichtung dieses Forschungsbereiches und schlägt als dafür grundlegenden Begriff die menschliche Existenz vor. Hierzu werden kursorisch die wichtigsten Aspekte von Rudolf Bultmanns Existenzialtheologie vorgestellt, um anschließend den Dialog zwischen Theologie und Film bzw. Kino völlig neu gestalten zu können. Die Begriffe ‚Verstehen‘, ‚Passivität‘ und ‚Gegenwart‘ werden mit film- und kinotheoretischen Überlegungen konfrontiert und verknüpft. Dabei bilden ästhetische und Apparat-abhängige Analysen die Bedingungen für eine an der Theologie Bultmanns ausgerichtete Film- und Kinohermeneutik. Anhand des deutschen Filmklassikers "Das Boot" wird abschließend exemplarisch die existenzialtheologische Bedeutung aufgezeigt. | ||
| 520 | |a In addition to illustrating explicit religious motifs in films and religious studies explorations of modern cultural products, the study of religion and film relies primarily on the equivalence of religion and film. The consequences for the theory of religion and theology have so far been discussed irritatingly inadequately. This article argues for a methodological and content-related reorientation of this field of research and proposes human existence ("Existenz") as the fundamental concept for this. To this end, the most important aspects of Rudolf Bultmann's existential theology are presented in a cursory manner in order to then be able to completely reframe the dialogue between theology and film or cinema. The concepts of 'understanding' ("Verstehen"), 'passivity' ("Passivität"), and 'presence' ("Gegenwart") are linked with considerations of film and cinema theory. Aesthetic and apparatus-dependent analyses form the conditions for a film and cinema hermeneutics in the tradition of Bultmann's theology. Finally, the existential-theological significance of the German film classic "Das Boot" is shown by way of example. | ||
