Description
Summary:The article intends to present the statute of the community from an analysis of aspects of the thought of Georges Bataille and Roberto Esposito. First, to bring the notions of contagion and the constructions of its interdictions in Bataille's thought closer to Esposito's conception of immunitas. Soon after, we reconnect our reading to the place where Esposito reserved for Bataille in his research, that is, the archeology of thought about community and the possibility of rethinking the common space. The methodology applied here comprises the combination of the bibliographic analysis method with the comparative one. In conclusion, it is intended to demonstrate the theological-political reactions that unify and reduce common life to a defense of mere human biological survival. Also, starting from an ontological deconstruction of the western identity, we propose an opening to contemporary thoughts about the community.
