Focusing on Proust's Jewish family, his illness and isolation, but especially on his main Jewish characters Charles Swann and Albert Bloch, Grab explains two ways of reacting to anti-Semitic threats. But moreover, and towards the end, a third option is revealed through this biographical-interpretive work. According to this, literary narrative seemed to be the key for Grab's approach, thus the lecture simultaneously reveals Grab's self-image as author. | ||
