| 520 | |a In this paper, I present the cult of the Goddess Rādhārāṇī as something prominent in Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇavism, starting from the 15th century books of bhakti-yoga, Hindu devotional theism. Before this bhakti literature, Rādhārāṇī was already mentioned in sacred books of Hindu Vaiṣṇavism and already had a cult in the Vaiṣṇava line of master Nimbārka Ācārya. However, her role as the Supreme Deity became more prominent after the period called Bhakti Renaissance, with some other philosophical sects emphasizing Rādhā as the Ultimate Reality. We will present the history of the cult and an analysis of the main aspects attributed to Rādhārāṇī, presenting her as an epitome of all possible love for God and considered the very personal manifestation of divine love, the Supreme and primordial Goddess. We will use as our main base the sacred texts of the tradition and comments from theologians, masters and scholars. | ||
