More specifically, the article discusses factors that constrain and limit housing choices of the Arab citizens of Israel. The key argument is that, while Israel may have a good record in providing adequate housing for Jewish Israelis, the same cannot be said of their record for the Arab minority. This is justified by the fact that housing possibilities and the rights to housing for the Arab minority have been deliberately limited. Only after a reshaping of the definition of the state itself, as secular and democratic, will a housing policy begin to emerge that actually addresses the needs of the entire population, regardless of which group is considered the majority and which other the minority. | ||
