| Résumé: | Faith matters in the lives of many children with disabilities and their parents. Although every church is called to embrace these families, most congregations are still uncertain about how to make meaningful participation possible. We interviewed 27 parents of children with disabilities about the supports that would facilitate their inclusion and belonging in the life of the Church. Their stories suggest practical ways churches can ensure families are present, invited, welcomed, known, accepted, supported, heard, befriended, needed, and loved within their faith community. We offer recommendations for how churches might pursue practices that lead toward an assurance of belonging for families impacted by disability. |
