Description
Summary:The relationship between religious freedom, guaranteed by Article 15 of the Swiss Federal Constitution, and education is a delicate subject, over which the traditional political divisions are often effaced. In legal terms, this area is the object of a considerable body of case law, and has many several different facets. This article first sets out the fundamental principles of religious freedom, before turning to its effects for education and, particular, the necessary neutrality of its content. It then considers the extent of the limits placed on the religious freedom of eachers by virtue of their role.
