Description
Summary:In this contribution, a new explanation for the word in CT I 4a; I 53a; III 270d; IV 57d; V 34 g; VI 327a is searched for. The old interpretation as proper lemma with the meaning "to be select", to be found in previous research, is rejected. Assmann's suggestion of a writing for " ctp" is accepted and supported by further examples. The reason can be seen in the known exchange between "i" and " c" in Hieratic.
